Summary: (from amazon.com)
Taylor Harris--Marietta, Montana's new librarian--is the quiet type who likes her glamour between the book covers. When she's pushed into attending the formal Valentine Ball with Marietta's Most Eligible Bachelor, Troy Sheenan, Taylor can't imagine a worse pairing. What in the world would she have in common with a wealthy playboy like Troy?

Technology tycoon Troy is forced by business concerns to return to his hometown and take the town librarian to the Valentine Ball... what he doesn't expect is that Taylor is even less excited about the prospect than he is! Intrigued by the only woman in town who wouldn't be thrilled to take his arm at the big event, he's determined that she will not just agree to be his date… bur she's going to like it. Can Taylor turn a cold shoulder to Troy's heart-melting charms, or is this about to be Marietta's hottest Valentine's Ball yet?

STAR RATING: 3/5
DESCRIPTION IN ONE LINE: A modern fairy tale with the lovely ball gown.

Title: Going by the story the title can fairly pass as appropriate as it was all Troy Sheenan concentrated on the importance of the first kiss so I really can't criticize the title as it holds importance to the story.
Title Rating: 4/5

Cover: I really feel the cover could have been much better as there are such instances in the story which could have made better instances to make the cover more intriguing, for example the scene  from the ball or when Troy kissed Taylor right at a public place as they would have made the reader more curious.
Cover Rating: 2.5/5

Characters: Troy: The Sheenans seem to be the talk of the town subjected to constant glances from the ladies. I don't understand what people make him feel as a playboy when he very clear of the fact that he doesn't date random ladies. He has a thing for book girls. He is a family oriented person.

Taylor: She is a girl who underestimates herself but is extremely protective of her brother and has a passion for her library. Highly qualified yet inside her is dreamer like any other girl.
Characters Rating:3/5

Review: It is a Cinderella story about a timid girl with too much burden on her head and a guy who is famous around the town. They have interesting twists and turns in his story
Review Rating: 3/5

Appreciation: The story was really sweet and had a smooth. It is a short easy and can be read in one easy sitting and I must really compliment the descriptions as they really made all the scenarios play in my head.

Let Downs: The ending was a bit too abrupt I would really have loved to see how the things went further. It left me craving for how things go by after they got together and a dozen more pages would have given that satisfaction to me as a reader.

Final Verdict: A lovely story and really makes you go AWWWWW. It makes you smile and feel sad for the character's losses. Had the ending been a bit better I could call it an almost perfect Valentine read. Still I am glad to read a story about some level headed BOOK PEOPLE.

Here is an exclusive interview from Jane Porter:

  1. At what age did you discovered writing as your forte and from where did you get an inspiration?
I’ve been a writer since childhood.  I loved nothing better than dreaming up stories and writing them down and spent a lot of my younger years dreaming!  My father was a college professor and always inspired me to write.

  1. Do your story characters take inspiration from yourself or your family members?
No, not my family as such, but I am inspired by real life stories of real women.  I love meeting interesting people and learning their stories.  I also love reading biographies and am often inspired by a snippet from a news article.  Just one sentence sometimes can inspire a whole book.

  1. What is the most romantic thing a partner can do for the other?
Quality time spent together is key.  I think in today’s world, it’s really hard to find time that isn’t plagued with interruptions so making an effort to get away, just the two of you, can be so important and very romantic.

  1. Who is your favourite author and why?
A tough question!  I have such an eclectic taste when it comes to reading and there are so many authors I really enjoy, it would be hard to pick just one!  But I will say that when I want to relax, I often find myself reaching for a book by Georgette Heyer or Joanna Bourne…. Or Mary Balogh.  Their stories always provide me with the escape I need from real life.

  1. Tell us about your usual Valentine time?
My husband always brings me gorgeous flowers for Valentine’s Day along with a beautiful card to express our love.  We usually have a nice dinner too but with our children too.  It’s a fun, romantic and beautiful evening to spend with my family.

  1. Message for your readers and budding writers.
Happy Valentine’s Day!  I hope your day is beautiful and full of romance too!  And if you’re a writer, may your day bring lots of fresh, new romantic inspiration so you can let lots of words flow!

  1. Kindly enlighten us with your upcoming projects that we are eagerly waiting for.
I’m currently working on my next Taming of the Sheenans story.  There are six books in the series with 3 already published: Christmas at Copper Mountain, The Tycoon’s Kiss, The Kidnapped Christmas Bride.  Each Sheenan brother is a serious alpha with serious heart!  I’m on book 4, Taming of the Bachelor which is Dillon Sheenan’s story, but already thinking about books 5 and 6 since they’re all connected. I’m really excited about the entire series and can’t wait to hear what readers think of the brothers too!
